We Finally Have Direction...
Over the past 4 weeks, I had no real sense of direction after selling my main content site. I was spreading my time between a few projects I have documented in past issues…
This week, however, we have some clear momentum on a project and can finally get moving forward with a serious content push.
Personally, I am fairly risk-averse in the early stages of building a content website…
I like to see some form of momentum before pouring $10s of thousands into a site.
For example on the site I sold I never went any more than $100 in the red and that was for hosting domain etc in the early days.
I then wrote all of the content until the revenue from the site was high enough so I could start hiring writers…
This is what the P&L looked like in the first year:

Ultimately a $100 investment turned into a 6 figure sale. The only problem was, I had to write a lot which cost me time.
As I can see this new site starting to take off and rank within 24 hours on the first page, it gives me the confidence to start putting more money into it.
This is how the site is currently performing. In the next 20 days we should be looking at a 25,000 pageview per month run rate.

That puts us one step closer to getting into Mediavine which is the main goal right now.
Until we get into Mediavine on this site, this is where I will be putting most of my focus with a smaller amount of time spent on the other sites.
Getting to Mediavine will allow me to start generating some revenue again, making pumping more money into content much more viable.
I now have one writer producing approximately 15,000 words a week and I will be trying to maintain 3 articles a day, 5 days a week.
In terms of revenue on the site, the RPMs are shocking with Ezoic right now, sitting at $1-2.
I’m convinced something is wrong with the setup as this is extremely bad. I reached out to them in the middle of last week but they are yet to reply. Another reason to get to another network asap.
This week I have a few tasks to complete and am already a little behind as I just got back from Man Utd over the weekend.
Here’s the goals over the next few days:
Change hosting from EasyWP to Cloudways (Should give us a significant speed boost)
Produce 9-12 articles myself
Research 50 new keywords for the site
Write 1 article on the affiliate site (Keep things ticking over)
It’s a shorter email this week, but next week we will get a full breakdown of all sites in February and a better look at the budget and strategy moving forward.
